Masks Sold

Hello Everyone!

I am happy and sad that my masks are sold. EXEL No Chance holds many memories to me. So does Fatpipe. I hope the buyer, Faiz, find both masks very useful still for a long time. They will not take up space in my house anymore.

Went to visit my grandmother in hospital with my lady and they had a good talk. We fetched my fiancĂ©e’s mother and sister before going to the bazaar in Hougang.

I have been very thirsty and drinking mango juice, strawberry milkshake and bird’s nest do not satisfy my throat at all. Seems that I am very dehydrated that I continued drinking half a jug of plain water while watching ‘THE DA VINCI CODE’ and ‘ANGELS AND DEMONS’ on FOX Premium.

We attended my former colleague’s wedding and managed to see some people whom I know. had our adventure on the LRT for the first time. Boy, was the lady complaining of the humidity in the automated vehicle.

It really was a good weekend and I am looking forward to some more.

Time To Pick Up The Camera!

It has been months since I last shot any action through my lenses. Most of them have been macro and portrait shots. When I have the time, I will definitely do more with the family’s trusty EOS 500D and my Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 lens.

I too will have to work on my culinary skill so that I can be half as good as my mum.

It has almost been a year since I retired from floorball. I have always been wanting to do photography for the longest time and a more important commitment to achieve.

I am thinking of acquiring a wide angle lens. I have always been a fan of Sigma.

My brother and I are going to watch ‘BAND OF BROTHERS‘ which is unlike ‘WORLD INVASION: BATTLE LOS ANGELES‘.

Till then, do look forward to more good news because I am working hard towards them. Watch this space…

22

22 is the number which

  1. I decided to choose when I entered floorball as a goaltender
  2. in September 2004, I lost to NUS in IVP finals
  3. in June this year, my wall collapse because of something ;)

Active Coming Weeks

Starting from today, I will be busy everyday. I have training every Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Got short-listed to play football for my company and maybe the girls’ floorball training on one of the weekdays. Sundays, I normally have floorball training with the old guys and it can be taxing too as they are very skilled.

Can feel my knee is giving way after high load of intensity since 2002. Then from 2005 to 2007, I spent the entire time in National Service almost running.

I have been thinking if I should sacrifice my floorball career but the thoughts of reuniting with old friends kept me going.

Been playing with Faizal ‘Abang Slack Jack‘ Rahman online for ‘BF:BC2′. Guided him to go for more kills. We had lots of laughs seeing each other’s antics especially when trying to fly the Apache couple of times.

I told him to start practising no-scope shooting when he gets stuck in a close-quarter combat with an opponent.

For now, enjoy my montage done about two months ago…

To Part Ways

Sometimes, the hardest things to say to people whom you enjoyed conversing with throughout the years.

Hello All,

I regret to inform you that I will not be playing for SIM next season because I have not been able to come for training thus far and this will result in a foreseeable bad overall performance.

Also, I am helping out a team which supposedly be competing in Div 3. So, our meeting will be inevitable should I decide to continue for another season.

The SIM team actually have given in to my requirement for retaining the core of the team but I do not want to be a stumbling block to a potential season for promotion.

I really enjoyed my stint being the captain trying to always motivate the ever happy-go-lucky-team. You guys are no doubt are included into my ever-growing list of players whom I enjoyed being in a team with.

I hope that this parting is only for a short while and we will still be on friendly terms even when we are playing as opponents (should that happens). I will help out in whatever ways possible and trust that my departure will allow a fresh blood of talent in goal.

May our paths cross in the near future…

My floorballing future? I will see how because it is undecided…

Aching Body All Over

But I am happy for the weekend happenings! Let me tell you why:

  1. Watched ‘Knight and Day’ on Friday evening
  2. My old class-mate, Dzul, got married
  3. Went for BBQ to meet my old INSEAD friends
  4. Floorball practice with old friends
  5. Germany thrashed England 4-1
Wedding

Congratulations to Dzul Hairie

Meeting the old gang of INSEAD was also nice. They are such a great bunch.

Met up with Jatin, Jo and Rezzal at Si Ling Secondary and I had a great session just like old times. Nose bled and, while saving a shot, I stumbled Izy accidentally.

In the evening, I watched Germany against England and I was damn happy. A 4-1 thrashing was the last result on my mind and I was shouting myself coarse celebrating every goal.

Got a shocking news to deliver to my fans :P

This Season’s Review

This season, I have lost statistically. It is my worst season ever in my floorball ‘career’. To chalk up a SV% of .704 reflects a severe dip in form compared to 2008/09 season which I excelled under the management of Yanto.

Not all is lost, I gained something intangible as the team experienced hardships on and off court. Lack of training was clearly evident as our first two games resulted in disaster. The coach clearly forgotten about us after his trip to Sweden for Women’s World Floorball Championships. Even when I am not an SIM student, the coach missing before IVP reflects badly on him.

In his absence, I tried and tested my brand of floorball for some league games. The first one against P9 proved to be a disaster. I realised that the brand of floorball was not suitable for SIM Blitzkrieg. We attempted to play fast and furious floorball but with the scoreline clearly against us, I changed our tactics and we did well in the third period. Apart from organising team tactics, I was forced to talk sense into these players. It was challenging as I had to compose what I have to say during period breaks.

Sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not. Well, I can only do so much as I am human. Having to relive my platoon sergeant days is a headache but it can be rewarding.

The only way I can know how I faired as a leader and tactician is through my team-mates’ feedback.

I think I know what my tactical signature is like if given an average team. The only thing left is to build one and improvise.

Now, I have to prove myself on court to regain my old-self.
